Humberto Porto is a percussionist and cavaquinho player from Brasília, living in Melbourne for the past 4 years. Passionate about Brazilian popular culture, Humberto dedicates himself to various musical traditions, effortlessly transitioning through choro, samba, forró, maracatu, coco, and much more. In Melbourne, he leads the band Forró Lamparina, teaches maracatu, and directs Baque Voador, a maracatu group formed by him and his students. In addition, Humberto also stands out as a luthier of traditional maracatu instruments and as a stilt artist.
